Summer is almost over, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy a great barbeque with your friends and family before winter arrives. There are many delicious appetizers and foods you can make during this special occasion, but one that you can’t miss are hamburgers.
This is a classic treat, easy to prepare and above all, delicious. For this reason, at Great Harvest in Spokane, we would like to share with you some useful tips to make the perfect hamburger.
Meat
A nice burger requires quality meat, and make sure to not overwork it too much when you are making the patties. An unspoken rule is that the patties should contain 80% meat and 20% fat, which is what will make your burgers juicy - don’t forget to season the patty with salt and pepper.
Heat
Either if you are grilling outside or in your kitchen, make sure to use a cast iron skillet. That way, you will allow the fat to melt around the patty for an exceptional taste. Avoid pressing the patty with a spatula, unless you want to remove all the juice from the meat and keep in mind that you should flip it only once.
Buns
That juicy burger can make your bread soggy, to avoid it toast your bun! Don’t forget to calculate the ratio of your patties so they fit perfectly in the bun.
Toppings
Your burger wouldn’t be complete without the right toppings; lettuce, onions, tomatoes, pickles there are many debates of what to add to your burger. Our advice? Put in it whatever you like!
